Not broken – Gold!
This decorative mirror is inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi i.e. repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer mixed with gold, silver or platinum – the break then becomes part of the design. Sometimes in the process of repairing things that have broken, something more unique, beautiful and resilient is created. This concept has helped me change my perceptions about myself when I am not feeling ok… I am no longer broken, I am gold!

Take time to Keep Learning Happiness on a Page
I am continually learning in life. If you look at the picture, it is not perfect. But if you look past the imperfections you will see a beautiful piece of art. The same applies to people. We are all unique and should celebrate our differences.

The Dogue Den
This piece depicts a small period in my past when I was able to get sober and learn to connect and be grateful for the people that I have in my life. The piece was actually created for my mother and her partner as a Christmas present as they has recently lost the Dogue de Bordeaux (dog). This piece was the first time I had used natural elements such as timber, fire and a soldering iron to depict what I wanted to achieve. Reflecting back on the piece gave me joy and hope that one day I will be able to overcome the obstacles that I am facing in my life.

Take time to Notice - Four Seasons
This picture has been titled "Four Seasons" I had an absolute ball making this. I used multiple mediums whilst trying to stay true to the colours. I noted after completion that my blue was a thing of life and no longer dark nor despairing.

Take time to Get Healthy - Tree 1+2
This tree has been a part of my psyche for years. I see the multiple blooms on the blue/ winter/ sadness branch.
It reminded me of how dark my world had been. The red was only barely able to be noted but the blooms are much bigger.
The trunk itself needed to be strong, full of supports so I felt a great grounding. For the first time ever, I saw grass and the 'little things'. I am on the way to healing.

“Life is simply one big puzzle”
This collaborative piece was created by the Art Day Program participants
This work turns the spotlight on learning as a time to explore and grow throughout life, by embracing creativity and curiosity. Learning can feel like a joyful sparking of brain cells or a slow-burning intelligence. It can be insightful and reflective, when learning about ourselves. And for some of us, some of the time, life is simply one big puzzle … and learning is just one thought at a time. And that can be enough.

Take time to take notice
