Winners Announced: Virtual Mental Health Week 'Take Time' Art Show

This year we added an exciting virtual component to our art exhibition for those who may be unable to attend in person. We welcomed our community to cast their votes for their People's Choice Awards, with the successful artist entry winning a $300 cash prize (category 1) and a $50 Toy World Voucher (category 2).

Patients of Townsville Private Clinic came together to showcase their creativity by responding to the theme ‘take time for mental health’ as it relates to their own mental health journey. This year we were overwhelmed by the talents of our community with over 20 pieces of artwork submitted for display at Townsville Private Clinic's Art Exhibition to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing.

People’s Choice Award Winners!
Your votes are in! Congratulations to Mary McShane for her artwork submission entitled ‘Australiana Embrace Nature’ which has been awarded the ‘People’s Choice Award’ in the adult category of the exhibition.

Mary responded to the theme of ‘Take Time’ by showing how she takes time to embrace and enjoy nature describing her artwork as, ‘when I go outside at home, I feel peaceful and harmony. Seeing our Australian Birds and Animals roaming free and happy.’ St Joseph’s on the Strand Year 5 Mental Health Week Art piece ’11.0’ has also been awarded the ‘People’s Choice Award’ in the children’s category of the art exhibition.

Congratulations to our winners and thank you to all of our wonderful artists who took the time to showcase their creativity in support of Queensland Mental Health Week 2021.
