Dr David Hartman MBBS, MRCPsych, FRANZCP is a Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in Child, Adolescent and Young Adult Mental Health (ages 8 to 25), Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Early Intervention with Psychosis, Personalty Disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorders. He has a particular interest in working with teenagers and young people with severe mental health problems associated with suicidal behaviour, deliberate self harm, psychosis or violence.

Prior to moving to Townsville in 2003, Dr Hartman studied and worked in South Africa and London. Since living in Townsville he has worked extensively in public health, and was Clinical Director for Child Adolescent and Young Adult Mental Health Services, Townsville from 2008 until 2014. Dr Hartman continues to work part time for Child and Youth Mental Health in Queensland Health. He is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at James Cook University and continues to be involved in the supervision, teaching and training of medical students, junior Psychiatrists and other mental health professionals.

Dr Hartman provides holistic mental health care including psychotherapy, working with families and medication management, and offers an up-to-date knowledge base for new patients.
