Dr Katie Boles

Dr Katie Boles MBBS, FRANZCP isa Consultant Psychiatrist who works exclusively at Townsville Private Clinic caring for inpatients and outpatients. Dr Boles has a special interest in a range of mental health conditions including; Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders, Psychotic Disorders, Perinatal Mental Health and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Townsville is Dr Boles' hometown. She was raised and educated in Townsville and completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at James Cook University in 2013. Dr Boles completed her psychiatry training at Townsville University Hospital. During this time, she gained experience in a broad range of sub-specialties including early psychosis, psychogeriatrics, forensic mental health, child and youth mental health, consultation and liaison psychiatry, electroconvulsive therapy and substance use disorders.

Dr Boles has spent time working in rural and remote North Queensland. She has also worked at the Townsville Aboriginal and Islander Health Service and is competent in providing care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in a culturally safe and appropriate way. Dr Boles isa caring, empathetic and humble psychiatrist. She is committed to providing excellent, evidence based psychiatric care to all of her patients with kindness and compassion. She works in partnership with her patients, their
families and other health professionals. Dr Boles is committed to educating patients about mental health conditions, identifying appropriate management strategies, working collaboratively towards recovery goals and optimising her patient's quality of life.

Outside of Psychiatry, Dr Boles enjoys living in North Queensland, spending time with family and friends and spoiling her sausage dogs.
