Using creative expression as the primary method of communication, new ways of knowing and insights can emerge. These insights can help create change, increase self-awareness and general wellbeing.
The therapeutic topics explored in this group are:
Attend a pre-program assessment prior to commencing the program. The aim is to consider goals & discuss details of the program. You will participate group sessions with 8-10 participants. The group is led by qualified mental health trained professionals who will support the learning practical skills & evidence-based strategies. It includes learning new skills & practicing during & between sessions as part of weekly homework which are discussed.
Practice art journaling as a reflective and therapeutic tool.
Explore therapeutic themes through creative art making.
Broaden your perspective through metaphors and creative self-reflection.
Enhance healing through the practice of letting go and challenging perfectionism.
Provide distinction between art therapy and art as therapy.
