Medical Advisory Committee
Our Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) advises the Hospital CEO and represents the collective view of Accredited Practitioners at Townsville Private Clinic.
The Medical Advisory Committee:
- Communicates between hospital Executives and health professionals to facilitate the safe provision of patient services and the application of appropriate policies and procedures
- Identifies the health needs of the community and advises on services that may be required to meet those needs
- Ensures optimum delivery of patient care is maintained through current best practice and research
- Provides a means of formal review of clinical outcomes, clinical management and peer review systems
- Ensures all accredited practitioners are qualified, registered and consistent with Healthe Care by-laws

Medical Advisory Committee
Dr Mushtaq Mohiuddin
Chairperson Medical Advisory Committee, Psychiatrist
Dr Mushtaq Mohiuddin was elected as Chairperson on the Medical Advisory Committee in 2021.
He chairs all MAC meetings, and facilitates communication between the hospital's accredited Practitioners and Executives in relation to patient care and safety. Dr Mohiuddin also seeks input from accredited Practitioners, and provides advise to the hospital executive on policies relating to clinical organisation and care.
He also provides formal feedback to the hospital executive from the Clinical Credentialing and Privileges Committee in relation to applications for the appointment as accredited practitioners, amendments and or termination of scope of practice in accordance with the By-Laws.
Dr Mohiuddin is an accredited Psychiatrist at Townsville Private Clinic.
Dr Jane Hay
Director of Medical Services
Dr Jane Hay was elected as the hospital's Director of Medical Services in 2016.
Dr Hay has been an accredited Psychiatrist at Townsville Private Clinic since opening in 2015.
Dr Hay's role is to provide professional leadership of medical staff accredited to practice at the hospital, through ensuring compliance with medical standards and promotion of the medical profession.
The Director of Medical Services also provides advice on clinical governance, continuous quality improvement, medical best practice and patient safety.
